Meeting of the Ad Hoc Working Group on SALW and Mine Action in NATO Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee
Today, ANAMA, headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Agency, Samir Poladov, participated at the meeting of the Ad Hoc Working Group on SALW and Mine Action in NATO Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee in EAPC format with a presentation.
ANAMA emphasized the humanitarian, economic and ecological damage caused by the landmines in Azerbaijan. Samir Poladov stressed that since November 2020, 379 Azerbaijanis were killed and injured due to mine explosions. It was also stated that the threat posed by the landmines continues to impede the safe return of the former IDPs and hinders the progress of reconstruction and restoration of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
The importance of sustainable financial support for the mine action efforts of Azerbaijan was also emphasized.
Also, the organized photo exhibition depicted the scale of the landmine problem faced by Azerbaijan and humanitarian demining process in the liberated territories.
