A pilot course on civilian oversight of the armed forces (COAF) involving Afghan experts took place in Baku

Baku hosted a pilot course on "Civilian oversight of the armed forces" for the representatives of relevant state agencies of Afghanistan. The course is a part of NATO Defence Education Enhancement Program (DEEP) with Afghanistan.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the course, NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller highlighted the importance of the event, that brought together 14 officials from Afghanistan, in enhancing the quality of military education and strengthening the security.

Rose Gottemoeller also thanked Azerbaijan for providing the platform for the implementation of this event. She stressed that Azerbaijan actively participated in the activities of DEEP with Afghanistan since its beginning and with that greatly contributed to the efforts of NATO in this country.
