NATO Science for Peace and Security (SPS) “Information Day” was held in Baku, Azerbaijan
On September 26, “Information Day” on NATO’s Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Program was held at ADA University, organized jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and NATO’s Division for Innovation, Hybrid, and Cyber.
Mr. James Appathurai, NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Innovation, Hybrid, and Cyber, addressed the event through virtual remarks. Attendees included representatives from the NATO SPS Program, officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and representatives of academic institutions.
During the event, participants discussed the priorities of the SPS program, reviewed past and ongoing collaborative projects, and explored the application of science and technology in tackling emerging security challanges. Presentations highlighted Azerbaijan’s contributions to the SPS framework and the program’s potential to enhance the cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO.
The event underscored Azerbaijan's role in advancing scientific and technological solutions to security issues and emphasized the importance of continuing collaboration to address emerging security challenges effectively. It served as a platform for open dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the identification of new opportunities for partnership within the SPS framework.
